I thought it'd funny to gather a collection of misheard lyrics here.

Ok, I'll go first:

In the opening track "More", Marko sings "Yeah decency, she done left our home", what I heard at first was of course "...shit I left it home"

In "Passion Colors Everything" the line goes "Money doesn't bring me joy", what I heard was "Mommy doesn't bring me joy".

Well, I dunno if it qualifies, but what the heck :P

I read somewhere that sometimes Marko isn't singing the lyrics printed in the booklet, and that's my general opinion too. But is it just me or is RR particularly full of these ambigous lines? It occurs in basically every song.

Especially the one I'm wondering about is in Fragile. My booklet says the last line of the first verse is "When you made your bed on bittersweet", but even having read that, I can't bring myself to hear anything else than what I first heard: "When you placed your bets on bittersweet".

Anyone, agree with me! :) 8)

Correct, it's "When you placed your bets on bittersweet"!

Ok!

What about Passion Colours Everything?

Booklet says "The face I wear behind my grin" but in the first chorus - not the rest I think - I totally hear "The face I wear, my heart, my grin".

Are you really sure? I really hear "my heart, my grin" in the first chorus... although the booklet seems to be right in the rest of the choruses.

I won't be checking for the song and the line now about what's right and what's wrong, but just keep in mind:

So embarrassing but in More when Marko sings "she's pretty far gone".....I actually heard "she's pretty fucked up" :? I was relieved when I found out the real lyrics :D

Hmm I don't mistake the lyrics much but I have these tendencies to want to hear something else.. f.e,

Passion Colours Everything: "This is my toothbrush moment.."
I keep on wanting him to sing, "This is my toothbrush holder.."

and,

Fragile: "Just to be somebody else's genie"
I keep wanting Marko to sing, "Just to be somebody else's bitch".

It is "anti-everything", the other lyrics would not make any sense. (Plus it says so in the CD covers. :P )

In "Miss Impossible" when he sings "Barefoot in nightgowns..."
I at first heard him sing "There's fuc*ing nightgowns..."

which makes no sense, but I remember being mad since he used the f-word (which he didn't so I apologize :D )

Even knowing that I still wanna sing along like I first heard it, "and I see that it makes me enter every debt" - whatever that would mean :P:D

I misheard:
"My spine is turning to plastic."

I laugh every time I hear that line now.
