Oh man, trying to learn that Lift solo is nuts. Anybody know where I can find maybe Stay's solo, cause that seems more suited to my level?

What the hell :D ? I'm just a dude with a guitar who's so bored he sits on his ass for a whole afternoon and tabs. Still, I'm honored

So, I'm back from the dead... Cereon, I looked at your tab - it sounds quite good, actually. I divided the solo into four parts... ascending in the beginning until the long note, then the fast middle part, then that nice sounding up and down bit in between and then the freakishly fast downward tapping part.

I don't think Ollie plays the first part (pentatonic upwards before the first long note) as low on the neck as in your tab - I'd do it somewhere around the 9th fret. The next part sounds nearly perfect as far as I can tell. I don't think he plays octaves in the next part - the music video isn't exactly acurate, but I still like the way he plays it there - sliding up and down one string ;-D The last part's a MYTH to me.

I think I've got the fire solo as good as I can get it, I just need to get around to TAB it... there's the really fast middle part, but it's impossible to tab that note per note. You could try playing something else really fast instead and I bet it would still sound fine ;-) If not like the original.

So, adios!
Fabba

edit: @ ell: Stay? Hey, I'll look into it :-)

Are you telling us you're not? :P

Seriously, thanks for having a look man! Actually i tabbed a couple too many notes at the end of the up-strokes in the first part, i'll correct that when i have a bit of time. It's funny you should mention the positioning in the first part. I actually started out on the 9th, but then i saw the video on youtube of PotF playing at NRJ. He starts out on the 4th and works his way up. I then realised why: that way it's much easier to use your pinky for the hammer-ons, granting 2 fingers to hammer with instead of 1

You might be right about the octaves, though i think i've seen him do it in some performances. Yet like you say, in some others he just slides down. And as far as the tapping goes, i'm not quite sure about the last part of it either, just find a nice combination in the general 9-12th area and work your way down at the end.

When you're done with tabbing fire, i'll be glad to have a look. Thanks again man!

Hey, people! In a few days, Ultimateguitar.com should have added my fire solo tab to the archive - take a look at it. Tell me what you think. You know the way it works... type "Fire" into the search and try finding the solo :-P

Greetings,
Fabba

Hey guys, now I must ask for help!

For ages I have listened to Late Goodbye, and after the "The devil grins..." part, the chorus is repeated for several times, and during these choruses, the same 'fill' is played on the guitar... I'd be delighted if anyone would help to find out how to play it, I've tried myself, but it just doesnt seem right to me...

maybe you should buy the "late goodbye" single, and listen to the "just one acoustic guitar"-version

Thanks to a program named "Capella" I was able to determine every note of Ollie's Lift-solo. I hope this helps some of you to play it better although I don't know if it's of any use. It looks a little bit strange, but sadly I wasn't able to do it any better. Anyway, I hope it helps.

I have the single, but the fill does not appear on the unplugged version :(

Hey Nuhr can you export that tablature to MIDI? If you can upload it to rapidshare or something like that.

Whooooo I haven't been here in what seems like years. Hi people!

Hey Nuhr, maybe I can load your midi into Guitar Pro - then it'll give me the tabs. All I need to do then is arrange them in a comfortable way on the board... By the way, great midi's!

Vlad! I'm not sure what parts are just part of my imagination... ^^ but check this:

Image

Just to avoid misunderstandings - There are only three lines because you only need the top three strings of your guitar, and in the bottom line only two because you only need to. And it doesn't mean you should take the others off ;-)!

Edit:

Hey cool, Nuhr, it worked! If what your midi contained was really correct, then I think we have a correct tab now (apart from WHERE to play it on the fretboard)

Image

Image

So, that's all for now. I'll be back later.

André

p.s.

And in case there WAS no King of Fools tab, there'll be one in a few days on ultimate-guitar.com!

I'd like to have tabs for:

Someone special
King of fools

(specially bass tabs  )
PS: I prefer GP tabs, Power tabs, midi files. Anything else is welcome as well

The original song may be transposed compared to this, but here's the chords I hear them in my memory.

EDIT: -It seems the forum does not allow spacing, so the chords are not
placed exactly. but you hear it.

Em Am
Sometimes I know there's nothing to say.
D G D
So do I pick up my puzzle and just walk away?
Em
Do I follow my conscience?
Am
Am I mock sincere?
C D
I don't know what I'm doing here.

Em Am
I have a knack for perceiving things.
D G D
I can see how it sounds, I can feel how it sings.
Em Am
When you paint me an image of who you are,
C D
I know it's the best by far.

etc etc

I dig this song. It simply rocks. Im still a little unsure of the chorus chords (though they'ære basically the same). Any ideas? :)

Hi everyone! Doy you want a midi of TUF?) So here it is! This is GP-file so you can see transcription of every instrument) Pay attention to the guitar tuning. This is producer's version, but I'm currently working under guitar solo;) I think my midi sound very smooth, lets see waht YOU will say about it! Enjoy! And one more thing: if you like the sound of that midi and want me to make some midis on other POTF's songs - just let me know, I'll do my best)

I can fully play "Fragile" with chords adapted for one guitar and I can do some chorus like "The ultimate fling", "Revolution roulette" and "Psychosis".

I'll post my tabs as soon as possible. I think it's not perfect but it sounds very good.

For people who wants to play "Passion colors everything" I've found this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIaKL89A0dY

I love his style too.
I try to compose sounds like him.
It's difficult.

Is it possible to hear samples of your songs ??

Well...I know it is nothing special but I found out the chords for "Where do we draw the Line".

Just use a capo on the 4th frat and play "Am, F, G and E7" throughout the whole song.

If you do not own a capo than play "C#m, A, B and G#7".
